ASAB DDP42 Replacement Parts #48 - Filter Screen (Coarse)

Sale price$5.14

Part Code: ASAB-SDDP42-48

Introducing the ASAB DDP42 Coarse Filter Screen — a high-flow suction filter screen designed to protect your ASAB DDP42 double diaphragm pump while allowing better inlet flow when you’re pumping thicker materials or chasing higher volume. The coarse mesh is ideal for catching the bigger rubbish (chips, flakes, skin) without restricting the suction side and starving the pump.

If a screen is too fine for the product, you’ll often see slow priming, cavitation, surging/pulsing, and reduced output — the pump simply can’t get fed. The ASAB-SDDP42-48 coarse screen is the right option when you need more breathing room on the inlet while still protecting the check valves and wet end from larger debris.

Whether you’re drawing from drums/IBCs, running heavier product, or replacing a damaged screen that’s been copping it on site, the ASAB DDP42 Coarse Filter Screen is a workshop-ready solution for smoother feed and more reliable operation.

Key Benefits

  • Direct replacement coarse filter screen for ASAB DDP42

  • Higher-flow coarse mesh helps reduce inlet restriction and pump starvation

  • Helps protect check balls/seats and valve chambers from larger debris

  • Supports faster priming and more consistent feed with thicker materials

  • Can reduce symptoms like cavitation, surging, and pulsing caused by restricted suction

  • Ideal for container pickup where contamination is likely (drums/IBCs/open buckets)

  • Built for regular cleaning and job-site use

Safety Check

  • Isolate and depressurise first: Shut off air supply, bleed the airline fully, and ensure the pump/lines are not pressurised before opening suction components.

  • Chemical exposure: Wear gloves and eye protection — residual product can spill when removing the screen.

  • Match the screen to the material: Coarse screens stop big debris, but fine contaminants can still pass — use appropriate downstream filtration if needed.

  • Don’t run damaged mesh: If split, crushed, or deformed, replace it — debris will get through and chew valves/seats.

  • Check suction seals on reassembly: Any air leak on the suction side will cause bubbles and prime issues.

  • Prime and test gradually: Prime at low air pressure first, confirm steady flow with no bubbles, then return to operating conditions.
